Walk along the Yarra

I rode the train with Wayne to his work this morning and then walked home along the Yarra River.  It is a lovely day in Melbourne...the first lovely day.
They have rubbish traps at regular intervals along the river.  This morning Parks personnel were cleaning one.  Great job, don't you think?

The shared path is very well used by cyclists.  These narrow parts make it feel a little uncomfortable on foot.

Great use of space under a freeway.  There were two climbing walls and some skateboarding facilities as well.
Most of the bridges over this section of the Yarra are beautifully detailed.

Perfect day to be on or along the river!

Sorry, can't help myself.  Solar powered path lighting.

It is a little like Paris and the Eiffel Tower.  You seem to catch glimpses of the Eureka Tower from just about everywhere.
And speaking of the tower, here's a shot from the skydeck in the general direction of where I was walking this morning.

Okay!  Time for a shower, a light lunch and a tram to some of those shopping streets I've been meaning to check out.  Tonight is pub night so no cooking!!

  1. Hi Dar,
Your pictures are wonderful. Melbourne looks so clean and pretty. Love the print by Joan! It's hot again here but we had a great tease. Miss you at yoga. The TBG reception went well - but the cards are, unfortunately, just passable. Have fun!

  2. I wonder if you have to sign a waiver against physical injury when using that climbing wall. Great area for a walk.
